ASHEVILLE, NC, January 5, 2008 - Asheville's growing climate services community will be on display in Phoenix on January 12-15 when the Economic Development Coalition for Asheville-Buncombe County (EDC) partners with the Asheville Hub and several area companies to host an exhibit at the American Meteorological Society's (AMS) annual meeting in Phoenix, The AMS annual meeting is the world's largest trade show for weather and climate-related businesses. The Asheville exhibit will highlight Asheville's unique assets related to climate data and information, its growing technological workforce, its numerous collaborative partnerships, and regional opportunities for education and research. ERC Broadband General Manager, Hunter Goosmann, was recently appointed to the Board of Director's of the North Carolina Technology Association (NCTA). Hunter Goosmann, General Manager, gave a presentation on Disaster Recovery at the RIO Technical Consulting Disaster Recovery Luncheon at the Commerce Club in Greenville, SC on September 18, 2008. Other ERC Broadband employees at the event were Mark Haney, Theo Lavis and Deborah Roberts.
Additional topics covered at the luncheon included Business Continuity Planning and Risk Management in relation to Disaster Recovery. |

WASHINGTON, DC – May 25-27 2010-Executive Director John Hunter and General Manager Hunter Goosmann participated in the TVC’s 2010 National Technology Summit in Washington, D.C. This is an economic development partnership that promotes the Tennessee Valley Corridor (Tennessee, Alabama, Kentucky, North Carolina, Virginia) as a premier center for science and technology and leveraging the regional assets to maximize job creation. The agenda highlighted specific assets including the Oak Ridge National Laboratory, University of Tennessee, the City of Chattanooga, Huntsville AL, and more but also programs related to energy innovation, workforce development and education, advanced transportation and space, and homeland security. http://www.tennvalleycorridor.org/summits/2010SummitAgenda.html This meeting also allowed ERCB to spend some quality time with our legislative representation in Washington. |
