ASHEVILLE, NC-April 26, 2010- ERCB General Manager Hunter Goosmann participated in SEATOA’s ninth annual conference (“Expanding Community Networks”). Topics discussed included financing community broadband networks, lessons learned from the second round of ARRA stimulus grants, public safety network technologies, State and Federal policy and legislative impacts on community broadband, and more. It was especially apropos to hear Tommy Jacobson of MCNC speak about their application and the effects it will have on western North Carolina. April 21, 2010-ERC Broadband is excited to debut our expanded network map. Through partnerships, agreements and relationships with other organizations, we have been able to exponentially increase our western North Carolina fiber footprint.

April 13, 2010-ERC Broadband is proud to announce our ARRA Stimulus Round 2 request submitted in partnership with MCNC (www.mcnc.org). If funded, ERC Broadband will add over 100 miles of fiber to its existing network and expand its reach into Avery County and further into McDowell County.
